Advanced education minister to speak to Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce

Amrik Virk, B.C.’s minister of Advanced Education, is the guest speaker at Tuesday’s

Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce luncheon.

Virk is also the MLA for Surrey-Tynehead. He previously served with the Surrey RCMP, where he was active in the issues of youth and gang violence, working with community leaders to help create the British Columbia Integrated Gang Task Force.

Virk spent six years on the board of directors for Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation, and also served on the board of Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

The Jan. 14 Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce monthly networking meeting is the first of the new year. It’s at Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino. The meeting starts at 11:30 a.m., and lunch is at noon. The cost is $20.
