Construction crews continue to work on the new Quantum Properties designed building located at 2600 Gladys Ave. in downtown Abbotsford.

Aldergrove Financial Group has purchased the entire 6,000-square-foot ground floor of a new, three-story Quantum Properties building on the northeast corner of Gladys and Essendene avenues.

“This is very good news for Abbotsford as it shows the confidence of Aldergrove Credit Union in opening a sixth branch, its third in Abbotsford, reflecting the trend of great new development and businesses for Abbotsford Downtown Business Association and its Railway District,”said Diane Delves, president and CEO of Quantum Properties.

The 20,000 square foot steel-frame building is expected to be complete by early 2013 at 2600 Gladys Ave. It will feature a curving glass corner face and a Hardie panel and brick exterior.

“Given the size and location of this building, I consider it a landmark for the downtown core, it has heritage styling with a touch of modern. This side of town is really changing for the better,” said Delves.

Gus Hartl, Aldergrove Financial Group CEO, said he is very excited about the Aldergrove Credit Union branch location in “a prominent corner of the downtown area which has seen a lot of revitalization in the last few years.”
