When two spiritually driven artists unite their extraordinary talents, the outcome is spectacular and inspiring.
“In Spirit With Nature” is a limited edition signature jewelry collection designed in sterling silver and hand carved in a time honoured tradition.
In keeping with their instinctive and physical sense of earth, air, fire and water, artists Susan Rind and Sky Phoenix Shanna have brought their passion for spiritual beliefs in a collaboration that stimulates the senses.
Shanna has been a freelance artist for 35 years and as a young boy, he lived in Laguna Beach, Calif. where he was inspired by the local art colony and his father Don Hanna.
As a teenager he returned to Vancouver to work on his multifaceted skills. During Expo ‘86, Shanna had the opportunity to speak with Haida artist Bill Reid.
As Reid sculpted his jade canoe, Shanna was able to ask questions and learn technique.
Shanna spent many years studying the forms of totem poles, going to pow wows, listening to elders and learning secrets of a culture that holds a deep and personal meaning to him.
In an explosive start to her 25-year anniversary career, bead artist Susan Rind has delved deep into her own spiritual being and her profound appreciation of nature.
The past 25 years have seen her evolve from, Fashion Week in New York, sharing a showroom with Dorothy Grant, to interviews with Vogue magazine, book publications and being showcased in Nordstroms. Enthusiasts have appreciated her latest creations with lamp work beads and her artistic renditions with glass. Inspired by the great Dale Chihuly, Rind has been able to see her deep love of nature radiate through her beads. Rind has a gifted talent to bring colour, metal and glass together in a perfect, creative balance.
The purpose of these two artist having been brought together is more than evident in the ground breaking jewelry that they have created. Connected through mind and soul, Susan and Sky have collaborated to bring art that invokes the essence of truth, history and future in all people. Every piece in this beautiful exhibit is hand carved and numbered for authenticity.
“In Spirit With Nature” is available in a limited quantity to the public at select locations and galleries.
