Bookkeeper earns designation

Vernon's Anne Fillippone designated into Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada

The Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada has designated Vernon’s Anne Filippone as a certified professional bookkeeper.

Filippone, who owns Precision Accounting, earned the national designation after passing a two-hour, closed-book exam.

The exam was based on generally accepted accounting principles within the profession and Canadian taxation laws.

The IPBC’s national mandate is to institute professional standards specifically for the bookkeeping profession.

“Who is the best professional to do the important compliance work required by law of business owners?” said said Gordon Skillen, IPBC executive director.

“There are millions of business owners across Canada who depend on the services of a bookkeeper. Business owners and employers will come to demand the CPB designation.”
