There’s a a new member to the whisky family at Vernon’s Okanagan Spirits.

In the fall, the distillery will release BRBN, which is expected to be B.C.’s first bourbon-style corn whisky.

“We have been working hard over these last few years with our grain crew in achieving a successful harvest of Coldstream Ranch grain corn. With diligent milling, fermenting, distilling and aging we now have what is shaping up to be a fantastically balanced whisky,” states a release.

“The grain corn is grown just west of our Vernon flagship distillery, and is milled onsite before being fermented and distilled in our state-of-the-art copper pot flavour stills. After a carefully monitored distillation process, our BRBN whisky is put down to rest and mature in carefully selected American oak casks.”
