Shoppers Drug Mart hosts the grand opening of its new 15,000 square-foot store in Hillside Shopping Centre this Saturday (Aug. 17).
“We are very excited to introduce the people of Victoria to this new Shoppers Drug Mart,” said pharmacist-owner Greg Candy.
“Our service and product offerings will allow our team of pharmacy professionals, beauty experts and front store staff to better accommodate the needs of our patients and customers and we want to be a contributing member of the community.
“We are confident that with this new store, we will be a greater trusted resource in fulfilling the everyday health, beauty and convenience needs of our community.”
Residents are invited to celebrate Shoppers Drug Mart’s grand opening at 8 a.m. on Saturday and take part in a variety of activities and specials.
In addition to limited time offer specials, the grand opening will also have 20 draws for $25 Shoppers Drug Mart gift cards, complimentary makeovers and skin analysis with beauty experts and the first 200 customers will receive a free reusable Shoppers Drug Mart eco-bag filled with exclusive products.
Shoppers Drug Mart is open 8 a.m. to midnight. The Hillside store will employ 65 people.
Wine on tap idea a first for Victoria hotels
The Hotel Grand Pacific has launched a new “wine on tap” service at its Pacific Restaurant. Using the Vancouver-based FreshTAP system, the hotel is offering keg-stored B.C. wine from some of the province’s favourite wineries. As the first Victoria hotel to offer the service, the Grand Pacific hopes to smash stereotypes around bulk wine and promises the last glasses out of the 19.5-litre stainless steel kegs will be as fresh as the first.
Money Mart teams up with Easter Seals
In a national campaign that runs through Sept. 13, Money Mart is raising money for and awareness of young people with disabilities. Customers are being asked to top up their transactions with a donation to Easter Seals, which will help send children with disabilities to summer camps, including Camp Shawnigan. Money Mart also sponsors the 24-Hour Relay for Kids.
Workshop for women in mid-life transitions
Personal trainer and champion fitness model Sandra Froher of Muscle Lines and yoga and pilates instructor Ajia Forster are teaming up to offer a one-day, workshop-style retreat, the first of what they hope will become a quarterly event. Sweet-smeling retailer coming to Mayfair
Ohio-based body care, home fragrance and beauty retailer Bath & Body Works has announced plans to open a store Sept. 21 in the Mayfair Shopping Centre. The chain, with more than 1,660 locations, features such brands as Signature Collection, Slatkin & Co. and C.O. Bigelow.
