Kal Tire has been providing service to the community for more than 50 years.
It has undergone a few changes in that time. One thing manager Mike Anderson says he’s proud of is building confidence in his customers, who return to the shop for service by staff who provide quality products and services.
“We like to keep our customers happy,” Anderson says, explaining one of the goals of the company over the last three to four years has been to rebuild the image of Kal Tire in the community by listening to the needs of the customers and responding to those needs with a high standard of service.
“We have a really great team,” Anderson says.
One of the perks of being a busy community service tire and auto shop is knowing the customers who have become regulars over time. Anderson says he likes that he can walk downtown in Golden and say “hi” to the people he has gotten to know in his 10 years with the company.
With the winter season upon us, Anderson explains they are busy putting winter tires on vehicles.
New this year is an option to finance a set of tires.
“Tires are a large purchase. If you buy standard winter tires for a full-size pick up, your looking at an investment of $1,700,” he says.
The option to finance is a nice way to ensure people are getting what they need to stay safe driving during the winter months.
If people are looking for a high quality tire at an affordable price, Anderson recommends the number one selling, Nokian Tyres, “it’s a well-known tire.”
“The studs come factory installed so they are less likely to fall out. It’s a different design style that works better than conventional style,” Anderson says.
“I also recommend people to come in in person and ask questions. Not every tire suits every vehicle and a person’s need.”
Not only does Kal Tire provide tires, they also provide onsite and offsite automobile maintenance and repairs.
Offsite emergency repair service has staff at Kal Tire servicing many vehicles in the middle of the night on the Trans-Canada Highway 24 hours a day, seven day a week.
