Campaign nets tourism award

A local marketing campaign has been ‘handpicked’ for a tourism award.

‘Handpicked in the Valley — where adventures take route’, which was created through the combined efforts of Tourism Langley, Tourism Abbotsford and Tourism Chilliwack, received the most valuable marketing partner award.

They received the honour last week at the annual Regional Tourism Leaders Forum, which was held in Squamish.

The three tourism offices “are shining examples of how communities can work together, pooling resources and ideas to create strong, targeted campaign that not only benefits the tourism businesses of those communities, but also the visitor who is able to experience something they may not have known about.”

The goal of the program is to increase overnight stays by creating more awareness and leveraging the uniqueness of each community.
