Chamber announces speed dating events

Industry Speed Dating events will be held May 27 in Campbell River and May 28 at the Best Western Westerly Hotel in Courtenay.

The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce, together with several industry stakeholders, is excited to announce two upcoming opportunities for suppliers and businesses to promote their companies and services to each of the three consortiums bidding on the two new state-of-the-art hospitals.

The ‘Industry Speed Dating’ events will be held May 27 at the Maritime Heritage Centre in Campbell River and May 28 at the Best Western Westerly Hotel in Courtenay.

“These two events are designed to give businesses a chance to interact with each of the three consortiums bidding on the construction of the new hospital projects and to promote their companies, services and experience,” said Chamber president/CEO Dianne Hawkins. “There will be morning and afternoon/evening sessions in each location over the two days. Considering that space is limited to 100 suppliers per session, and there is no requirement that business be based in the Comox Valley or Campbell River, I encourage local business to pre-register as soon as possible to ensure that they have an opportunity to participate.

“I would also like to clarify that businesses may only register for one session in one community,” added Hawkins. “And, while there is no fee to participate, online pre-registration is mandatory. Once you register, a package will be emailed that provides information on how to participate and promote your business during the speed dating sessions, including tips and timelines and an event agenda.”

Registration opens at 9 am May 13 and closes May 24.
