Langley chamber president Scott Johnston and executive director Colleen Clark both attended Tuesday’s Speech from the Throne in Victoria.
Johnston said it was a good experience to see Langley’s two MLAs taking part in the annual event, which lays out the government’s priorities and plans.
Clark said the overall message was positive for Langley business, but they’ll be interested to see what’s in the provincial budget, where the rubber meets the road.
A suggestion of some tax relief will be of interest to the chamber’s members, said Johnston.
“How that’s going to look, we don’t know,” Johnston said.
With an election coming up, the chamber will stick to its goals, with Clark saying they’ll work with any party on behalf of local businesses.
The chamber will be hosting two all-candidates meetings at the end of April.
