The new president of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce took the reins on Tuesday.
Jack Nicholson of the Otter Co-op was sworn in for an expected two-year term as president of the local business association.
Nicholson takes over from outgoing president Scott Johnston.
Involved in the chamber since 2010, Nicholson said he was honoured to become president.
He said no other business organization works so hard to reduce red tape.
In his final speech as president, Johnston thanked chamber members and staff, and talked about the saying that “a rising tide lifts all boats.”
“We can all win. We can all prosper,” Johnston said.
He also joked about his own exit.
“The reign of terror has culminated to an end,” Johnston said.
New and returning directors were also sworn in, with Langley Township and City mayors Jack Froese and Ted Schaffer officiating.
