The Chilliwack Progress was honoured by the Canadian Community Newspaper Association with three awards this week.
Jenna Hauck finished first in the feature photo category for a photograph she took to illustrate the Spirit of the People Powwow.
Paul Henderson earned third in the category for Outstanding Reporter Initiative for stories he did on workplace deaths in Chilliwack, and the B.C. Federation of Labour’s call for greater accountability.

Greg Knill placed third in the Outstanding Columnist category. The entry featured three columns, which had to have been published in succession.

Chilliwack school trustee should step down
The awards come on the heels of a first place finish for the Chilliwack Progress in general excellence at B.C./Yukon Community Newspaper awards – the second in two years.
Overall, Black Press did well at the annual event, which draws entries from across the country.
