The company building three highrises in North Surrey has committed to providing a scholarship and bursary for Surrey students.
On Tuesday, Concord Pacific detailed its plans for the City Centre area while unveiling an interactive model of what the future of North Surrey will look like.
Located adjacent to the King George SkyTrain station, the Concord Pacific’s Community Presentation Centre and interactive marquee model are now open daily for tours to the public (see video at surreyleader.com).
“The community presentation centre will allow residents an exciting glimpse into Concord’s holistic approach to building communities,” said Mayor Dianne Watts.
In addition, Concord is committing to providing an annual bursary and scholarship, both worth $2,500, for Surrey students.
Shawn Wilson, chair of the Surrey Board of Eduation, noted the district produces some of the finest students in the province every year.
“We are grateful for any steps to make post-secondary education more accessible for our students,” Wilson said.
Concord Pacific has already shown its commitment to Surrey with a gift for after school programming to the district and providing a home to Arts Umbrella in its Surrey development.
“Accumulating knowledge and supporting the communities we develop in is important to building sustainable communities,” said Concord President and CEO Terry Hui.
Park Avenue, the latest phase of Concord’s Surrey community will be launched formally on June 22.
