Handcrafted, made from scratch donuts are coming to downtown Courtenay just in time for National Doughnut Day.
Bigfoot is coming! Bigfoot Donuts, that is. The new donut café is located at 463A 5th Street in downtown Courtenay. Join the staff at Bigfoot Donuts June 2 for their grand opening celebration on National Doughnut Day. All day specials and prizes to be won.
The new establishment is owned and operated by local residents Lyndsey Bell and Jay Valeri. Lyndsey and Jay left the corporate world to join a long family history of entrepreneurship in the Comox Valley. A lifelong love of baking and a particular weakness for the fried fare led them in this direction.
“We are so excited to be joining the downtown business community, and to share our love of donuts with the Comox Valley. We put a lot of hard work into the development of our product and our space. We wanted it to be a place our community would really want to visit, with a product they would really enjoy. And, seriously, who doesn’t love donuts?”
Each donut is handcrafted and made fresh from in-house recipes. No pre-mixes, preservatives or “previously frozen” sold here.
They will offer a variety of standby favourites as well as modern takes on the classic treat, including savoury. The space is warm and inviting with rich dark walls, rustic barnboard accents, and vintage design elements. Great atmosphere and even better donuts.
Biffoot Donuts will be open 8-4 Tuesday through Friday, and 9-4 on Saturdays.
