Following its recent annual general meeting, the Williams Lake and District Credit Union (WLDCU) board of directors held elections for their board chair and vice-chair.
Williams Lake area representative Leanne Macnair was elected as chair. Macnair first joined the WLDCU board in 2005, and has served as vice-chair since 2011.
She has served on numerous committees during her tenure, including the Audit and Human Resources committees. In 2012, she chaired the Executive Search Committee, as it worked to find a new chief executive officer for the organization.
Williams Lake area representative Joe Bazan was elected to the position of vice-chair. Bazan first joined the WLDCU board in 1991, and has served on all of its committees at one time or another.
In particular, he has been a mainstay on the Human Resources and Investment and Lending committees, and was also a member of the Executive Search Committee in 2012. Bazan has served as vice-chair several times during the course of his tenure with the WLDCU.
Outgoing chair John Morton continues to sit as an active member of the board, representing the Bella Coola Valley. He held the position of vice-chair from 2002 through 2004, and served as board chair continuously since 2005.
