Renovations are complete at 2732 Dunsmuir Ave. Cumberland, the home of Cumberland Brewing Co. since December of 2014.
“As we approach our fourth anniversary in December, we are excited to announce that we have more production capability, more seating inside, including four washrooms,” said general manager Darren Adam, in a press release. “We created more bar and table space inside, and have received a higher occupancy of 94 persons (29 inside, and 65 on the patio). This means that our fair-weather guests will have more success in finding inside seating during our colder winter months.”
Adam added that the patio will remain open throughout the year, as it is sheltered, with a roof, and has newly-installed infrared heaters. There is also a fire pit that splashes the patio in light after the early sunsets of this time of year.
The food menu is ever-evolving. It still boasts all the favourites, and the kitchen team is working on new creations.
“Look for cottage pie, raclette salad, fish tacos and of course our rotating soups, all made in-house,” said Adam.
From a beer production standpoint, the expansion has included additional brewing equipment. The Cumberland Brewing Company now has double the brewing capacity of when it opened in 2014.
“This is making it possible for more varieties to be coming to our taps soon,” said Adam. “Our first barley wine is in the tanks and should be ready for the beginning of December. We also brewed a black current sour beer (our first effort in the sour style, with the assistance of Twin City Brewing in Port Alberni). “
We look forward to seeing our regular guests throughout the winter, and meeting some new people who are trying our offerings for the first time. The variety of food and beverage available in Cumberland is awesome, and CBC is also proud of our food and beverage peers in the Village. See you soon!”
