SURREY — Deadlines loom for nominations in four awards presented by Surrey Board of Trade.
Every year, the board’s award programs offer Surrey businesses, organizations and individuals an opportunity to be recognized for their work in a number of areas.
Businesses can self-nominate or nominate a deserving business/organization/individual, the organization notes, and businesses can be nominated in more than one award program. For more details, visit businessinsurrey.com/events.
Nominees are sought for the following awards, with descriptions provided by the board of trade:
Surrey Environment & Business Awards (nomination deadline Friday, July 14)
“The Surrey Environment & Business Awards are presented to Surrey based businesses or Surrey Board of Trade members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to environmental leadership and/or issues. This may take the form of hands-on-work through recycling, promoting environmental awareness or education, pursuing ground-breaking environmental research, innovative environmental technology and/or partnerships with the community to promote the environment.”
Surrey Police Officer of the Year Awards (nomination deadline Friday, July 14)
“The Surrey RCMP along with Surrey’s Auxiliary officers, civilian employees and volunteers will join members of Surrey’s business community to celebrate those individuals who have been chosen by their peers and the public to receive the Police Officer of the Year Awards. The nominees are judged in the areas of: innovation, commitment, contribution and perseverance. These awards, the only one of its kind in Canada, celebrate the work and innovation of our Surrey RCMP. The event continues to support the RCMP Youth Academy.”
Surrey Innovation Awards (nomination deadline Friday, Aug. 18)
“The Surrey Innovation Awards celebrates, educates, and connects innovators across all industries by Surrey businesses and helps make Surrey a recognized hub of innovation by igniting a new narrative for our city, strengthening its economic future and building the spirit of innovation. Nominees must be a Surrey Board of Trade member or a Surrey business/organization. Innovation is not only related to technology. Innovation includes new human resource, marketing, operational processes that have made a difference to the bottom line.”
Surrey Business Excellence Awards (nomination deadline Wednesday, Sept. 13)
“This Surrey Board of Trade award program celebrates Business in Surrey – a great place to live, learn and work! The businesses featured each year – the nominees and finalists – have reached a special point of business success. The Surrey Board of Trade for the past 19 years have celebrated Surrey businesses in this way. Business premises must be located within Surrey and have a valid Surrey Business License.”
