This week’s column is dedicated to Dee Rogers, who passed away earlier this month. It was always a pleasure to chat with Dee. Despite her many personal obstacles, she always had an up-beat attitude and was a pleasure to be around. She was an influential person on many committees and boards, including the Okanagan chapter of the MS Society and was a member of the Premier’s Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities. Personal condolences to her family and many friends.

Revolution Pharmacy has just opened at 115-Highway 33 West near the intersection with Rutland Road.

Owned and operated by local pharmacist Curtis Fieseler, Revolution is an independent, full service and retail pharmacy. Fieseler has been a pharmacist for 19 years, mostly for larger chains, most recently Paragon Pharmacy. Revolution’s dispensing fees are very reasonable and the pharmacy is operated differently than a typical pharmacy. The in-store products are priced comparatively in the marketplace, especially the generic products, which are under the Pharma Choice Banner which offers the Option Plus Brand, with greatly reduces pricing and offers savings that are passed on to the customers.  The environment and atmosphere in the pharmacy is warm and appealing. Sit on a comfortable couch, watch TV, charge your phone or drink tea while waiting for your prescriptions. Revolution does not sell candy, cigarettes or sugared pop (sugar free and naturally sweetened only), promoting healthy choices for their customers. Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 250-491-4475.

Campfire in a Can

Campfire In A Can, an innovative new product design and the first of its kind on the market, is the world’s first portable campfire capable of burning three separate fuels. It gives campers the ability to burn wood, charcoal or propane in the same unit. Invented by Leo Knight, the vertical burner system allows for maximum heat projection when burning wood and leaves nothing but fine ash behind. The canister top and base combination lets you snuff out a wood fire in seconds and if using the propane kit, you have instant control over the flame. The unit is valued by outdoor enthusiasts for its compact design, versatility and superior heat and flame. Even if there was a fire ban, Campfire In A Can could be used with the propane. Each unit is manufactured to the highest standard of craftsmanship and is backed by the companies 100 per cent Happy Camper Guarantee. Knight, a Kelowna resident, and his daughter Nicole Knight, president of the company, went to Kickstarter to presell and launch their product until the beginning of March. Go to campfireinacan.com and click on Kickstarter and it will take you directly to the project where you can receive 40 to 50 per cent savings. There is no shipping charge if you pick up at their office in Kelowna at 204-767 Harvey Ave. Call Leo at 1-888-768-7737 (local 103).
