This week’s column is dedicated to Dee Rogers, who passed away earlier this month. It was always a pleasure to chat with Dee. Despite her many personal obstacles, she always had an up-beat attitude and was a pleasure to be around. She was an influential person on many committees and boards, including the Okanagan chapter of the MS Society and was a member of the Premier’s Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities. Revolution Pharmacy has just opened at 115-Highway 33 West near the intersection with Rutland Road.

Andrea Andrich is the new owner/operator of Tan On Studios (formerly Sherry’s Tanning) at 2009 Enterprise Way, next to Enterprise Flowers. The shop uses Aviva Organic Spray Tan, which is a product that is hypoallergenic and fragrance and oil free. Since there is no oil, it dries on your skin in seconds and if it gets on any clothes, it washes right out with no staining. Turn Down the Heat is a cool campaign. Business Improvement Areas of BC (BIABC) along with the Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) would like to invite everyone to participate in the third annual Turn Down the Heat Week. Businesses across the province will be promoting energy conservation and encouraging customers to turn down their heat at home and work, wear a sweater and donate sweaters for people in need. Gather as many gently used sweaters during the camping week of Feb. 1 to 7. Hats, gloves, mittens, sleeping bags or any other items that keep people warm can also be donated in support of Kelowna Gospel Mission clients.
