Sources White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank’s move into a new, larger facility received a big boost last month in the form of an $8,000 donation from Vancity.
The donation is the latest in Sources’ Build our Bank campaign, which is raising money to help outfit the organization’s new home, 2343 156 St. in South Surrey.
The Vancity donation enabled the purchase of sturdy storage shelves for the facility.
“With community need growing for the services offered by the Sources Food Bank, this donation is a welcome contribution to the brand-new space,” a press release states.
According to Sources, the food bank supported 1,691 individuals in 2012.
