Downtown Kelowna chooses new board of directors

The DKA ensures that the Downtown Business Improvement Area is a safe and desirable place to conduct business, live, work and play.

The Downtown Kelowna Association elected its 2015-2016 board of directors at the annual general meeting on June 3.

The DKA is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that the Downtown Business Improvement Area is a safe and desirable place to conduct business, live, work, play and enjoy through the cooperative efforts of its members and government.

This new board is an excellent mix of the various types of businesses that can be found Downtown.  The board is:

President: Dustin Sargent – Streaming Café & Davara Enterprises
Vice-president: Dan Allen – Doc Willoughby’s Public House
Treasurer: Rob Collins – Grant Thornton LLP

Secretary: Yarden Gershony – Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP

“It’s wonderful to see the continued growing interest in Downtown after we had 21 nominations come through,” said DKA executive director Peggy Athans.

“I’m looking forward to working with this board of directors as we all move forward with the Downtown Plan and the revitalization of Downtown Kelowna.”

The new board is  effective immediately.
