If you have taken a stroll though downtown Mission in the past few days, then you’ll have noticed that the renovation project continues to progress at a fast pace.
According to a recent update provided by the Mission Downtown Business Association, the project is still “within scope and on budget” and is scheduled for “substantial completion late September.”
New street lamps and benches have been installed in some sections of First Avenue.
The district’s public works crews department has been working graveyard shifts to replace some deficient storm infrastructure in the intersection of James and First Avenue. They are also pre-servicing the vacant lot adjacent to the old movie theatre.

Currently, one bus stop is in service in the east block near Oak Lane. A second bus stop should be in service in the west block in mid-September.
