Castlegar residents now have another option for financial management advice with the opening of an Edward Jones branch at the Kootenay Crossing Mall.
Tricia Pujos-Michel has been advising Castlegar and Grand Forks clients for several years out of a branch in Nelson, but the company decided it was time to give Castlegar its own branch.
Edward Jones had an office in Castlegar that closed in 2012, and that meant existing clients and advisors were doing a lot of commuting to obtain services.

Pujos-Michel has lived in the West Kootenay for 25 years and is a strong believer in meeting people in person and really getting to know them before she gives out advice.
That is one of the reasons she was so excited to open the Castlegar branch.
“It’s really nice when you get to start with young families — you get to meet their families, help them reach their goals,” said Pujos-Michel.
She is looking forward to getting involved in the community and getting to know her fellow business owners.
Pujos-Michel’s advice to potential savers or investors is to take advantage of the free information available and that no amount of money is too small to start planning for your future.
“Knowledge empowers,” she says.
