A $50,000 donation from Envision Financial will help provide some much needed equipment and technology to further enhance education for students in Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s faculty of community and health studies at the Langley campus.
“At Envision Financial, we are committed to making a meaningful difference in our local communities and partnering with other local organizations who share our commitment,” said Shelley Besse, president of Envision Financial.
“That’s why we are proud to provide this donation to Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Community and Health Studies Building.
“We applaud the university’s commitment to healthcare excellence and we know that this new building will ensure that tomorrow’s leaders receive an exceptional educational experience.”
Envision Financial has supported KPU’s programs in the past, donating more than $200,000 to KPU since 1990.
“We are thrilled once again to be the recipient of a substantial donation from Envision Financial,” said KPU president and vice-chancellor Dr. Alan Davis.
“Envision Financial understands the key role that higher education plays in creating healthy and happy communities, and through this gift, KPU is honored to be recognized for the work we do to contribute to our region.”
In September 2012, KPU moved its Faculty of Community and Health Studies exclusively to the Langley campus into a facility boasting more than 2,500 square metres of teaching and administrative space. With four state-of-the-art simulation labs and a brand new home care lab, more than 600 students can blend theory with practice in a safe learning environment. The faculty has earned a reputation for providing the best possible education for nursing, psychiatric nursing, health care assistants, health administration unit clerks and special education teaching assistants.
