Envision presenting shredding event in Abbotsford

Members of the public are invited to bring their documentation to be securely shredded.

Following the success of its shredding events held in Langley, Envision Financial is proud to partner with Iron Mountain and the  Abbotsford Police Department to bring Shred It and Forget It! to Abbotsford.

Members of the public are invited to bring their documentation to Envision Financial’s Town Centre location where Iron Mountain will provide onsite secure paper shredding by donation. All proceeds will benefit Envision Financial’s new signature cause, The Full Cupboard, supporting the Abbotsford Food Bank.

The Abbotsford Police Department will also be on hand to provide fraud awareness information to the public.

“Identity theft is a growing concern and shredding confidential documents is one of the best ways to protect yourself,” says Kelly Khakh, branch manager at Envision Financial’s Town Centre location.

“Hundreds of people have attended our events in Langley which demonstrates a real need in our local communities. Envision Financial is committed to making a meaningful difference in our local communities which is why we’re proud to offer this service.”

“Awareness is the best prevention,” said Kelly Pater, Community Policing Coordinator, Abbotsford Police Department. “Be aware of how you dispose of your important documents including bank statements, credit card statements and even your utility statements and take advantage of a community event like Shred it and Forget it!”

As part of this event, Envision Financial will be accepting donations for The Full Cupboard—its newly announced community program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks. In Abbotsford, The Full Cupboard supports the Abbotsford Food Bank. Through this innovative program, Envision Financial has committed to raising at least $1 million for local food banks over the next 10 years. Since the launch of The Full Cupboard in March 2013, over $27,000 and 4100 pounds of food has been raised.

The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.n. at 32711 South Fraser Way.
