Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is hosting a barbecue on Friday, Sept. 30 as part of its Drive Away Hunger program. All proceeds raised from the event will go to the Surrey Food Bank.
The FCC Drive Away Hunger barbecue takes place at the FCC office, #201-5460 152 St. today (Friday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Now in its eighth year, the Drive Away Hunger program consists of a food drive featuring tractor-trailer tours throughout communities across Canada to collect food and cash donations for local food banks.
To help support Drive Away Hunger and the Surrey Food Bank, FCC encourages the public to drop off food and cash donations at the FCC office (#301-5460 152 St.) or BDO office (#220-19916 64 Ave., Langley) between now and Oct. 14. Businesses which want to participate are encouraged to collect food and cash donations and deliver them to the FCC office, or arrange for FCC to pick them up.
FCC Drive Away Hunger is about making a difference in our communities by working together to reduce hunger. Since 2004, the program has raised over 5.2 million pounds of food.
The FCC Drive Away Hunger B.C. tour also takes place Oct. 11-14 in Duncan, Chemainus, Victoria, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. To learn more about FCC Drive Away Hunger and view the video, visit www.fccdriveawayhunger.ca
