The Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union’s board of directors chose the three finalists for the SASCU Canada 150 Grant of $50,000.
SASCU members will begin voting May 1 for their favourite community project.
The winner of the grant will be announced on Canada Day.
“We are so impressed with the projects that were submitted,” says Barry Delaney, CEO, SASCU Financial Group. “We are excited to see which one our members will choose to mark Canada’s milestone anniversary!”
SASCU’s board of directors shortlisted the 28 eligible applicants for the award down to three based on the grant’s criteria – a key factor being the long term betterment of the community.
The finalist projects that Members will vote on are the following:
• Larch Hills Chalet Expansion, by Larch Hills Nordic Society;
• Eagle Valley Volunteer Transportation, by Eagle Valley Transportation Society;
• Recycling Centre, by BC SPCA – Shuswap branch.
“We hope to see our members get involved and vote,” says Delaney. Voting will be open to all members 10 years old and up. “We want to give our younger members an opportunity to help choose this legacy project,” he added.
Finalists’ project overviews will soon be available at sascu.com/SASCUCanada150.
