FortisBC PowerSense launches the Okanagan Energy Diet

Information ener-vention on how to save energy planned for Monday at Mission Creek Regional Park.

To help Kelowna customers reduce their energy use and save money on utility bills, FortisBC invites local residents to attend an ener-vention at Mission Creek Regional Park on Monday, 4 to 7 p.m.

The public will be able to meet energy savings experts and learn how they can access energy assessments for 90 per cent off the usual cost and rebates for energy efficiency upgrades.

The Energy Diets, which started in Rossland and the Kootenays, have proven to be a popular and effective way to help people save energy in their homes. We expect there will be great photo opportunities at this event of local community leaders and customers getting energy savings tips and signing up for the community-wide energy diet.

Among those on hand for the event will be Kelowna Mayor Walter Gray, MLA Steve Thomson, MP Ron Cannan, FortisBC customer service director Mark Warren and FortisBC PowerSense service manager Carol Suhan.

Formal remarks will begin at 5 p.m.
