Midnight Friday (July 22) is the deadline to request an HST Referendum Voting Package from Elections BC.
“If you are not registered, you can call, register and request a voting package,” said Acting Chief Electoral Officer Craig James. “If you are registered and haven’t received a voting package, call Elections BC to have one mailed to you.”
You can vote in the referendum if you are:
• A Canadian citizen
• 18 years of age or older on July 22, 2011
• A resident of B.C. for at least six months immediately before July 22, 2011
• Registered as a voter in British Columbia
• Not disqualified by law from voting
Packages can be requested by calling 1-800-661-8683.
Completed ballot packages must be received by Elections BC, a Service BC Centre, or an Elections BC Collection Centre before 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5.
