Centenoka Park Mall is undergoing renovations to accommodate Staples, which is expected to open in mid-year.
Lance Johnson, mall manager, said Friday that Staples is planning to open around June.
“The Great Canadian Wholesale Club at the same time is doing renovations as well, which are underway right now.”
Johnson said the mall is now in negotiations with other national tenants and he predicts there may be announcements around the end of February.
Meanwhile, the new Dollar Tree store is doing “very, very well,” he said.
“We’re pretty happy with that.”
Asked if the new store is affecting the long-standing dollar store, he said, “I think they’re working together. One’s called Dollar Up – I have a hard time calling them a dollar store; they’re more general merchandise.”
