Old Abbey Ales’ Sour Raspberry won the gold medal in the fruit beer category at the 2016 Canadian Brewing Awards on Sunday, May 29.

The Canadian Brewing Awards is an annual beer competition in which breweries from across the country compete in a blind-tasting panel of approximately 40 internationally recognized certified beer judges.

Old Abbey Ales’ Sour Raspberry has a balance of ripe raspberry and sour tang. Juicy, fresh fruit and lactic sourness harmonize to create a crisp and refreshing beer.

The Sour Raspberry is brewed with barley, wheat, hops, and local Abbotsford raspberries, giving the beer a truly Fraser Valley taste and heritage.

“The Fraser Valley is Canada’s top raspberry producer, and now we have the beer to go with it,” said brewmaster Steve Black.

Old Abbey Ales is located at t #1A 30321 Fraser Highway in Abbotsford.
