The Rotary Club of 100 Mile House is a proud part of more than 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.
The mission of Rotary is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.
The Rotary motto ‘Service Above Self’ conveys the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s more than 1.2 million members. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary worldwide.
Club service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club. Rotary was founded on fellowship, an ideal that remains a major attraction of membership today. Club members enjoy the camaraderie with like-minded professionals, and club projects offer additional opportunities to develop enduring friendships. Rotarians who travel have friendly contacts in almost every city in the world.
Community service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community. An effective Rotarian community project aims to improve the community and bring people together. The South Cariboo Rotary Fall Fair is a major community service project for the 100 Mile club.
International service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the globe, to promote world understanding and peace. Rotarians gain an understanding of humanitarian issues through international service projects and exchange programs. The local club participated in the Rotary International Youth Exchange program for many years.
New Generations service recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities, service projects, educational exchange, and scholarship programs. Rotary clubs provide innovative training opportunities and mentoring for young leaders and involve family members in a wide range of social and service activities. The 100 Mile House club annually awards $1,000 scholarships to graduates of Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School.
Join us and make a difference in this community and around the world.
