Hillside shopping event ignites ticket demands

10th annual event helps out Greater Victoria charities

Hillside Centre has witnessed unprecedented demand for tickets to its upcoming evening shopping event, which it has hosted annually for the past 10 years.

More than 50 non-profit organizations and school groups were given 20,000 tickets to the commercial centre’s The Night Before Late Night Shopping event, Sunday (Nov. 27). Tickets are sold for $5 and the groups keep 100 per cent of proceeds.

“We’ve had higher than usual demand for tickets from non-profit groups and school groups this year,” said Michele Paget, Hillside Centre’s marketing director.

Only ticket holders are able to attend the special evening, partaking in live entertainment, edible treats, bargains and doors prizes. The event signals the start to extended holiday shopping hours at Hillside Centre.
