Independent small businesses urged to sign up for love project

100 Mile House has been chosen as one of six municipalities in the province to participate in a pilot project for an innovative, photo-packed community marketing website.

The Small Town Love project is sponsored by Northern Development Initiative Trust.

District of 100 Mile House planner Joanne Doddridge says businesses are strongly encouraged to sign up.

The Love 100 Mile House Project offers independent small businesses great exposure through an online presence on an innovative website that will be developed over the next few months at www.Love100MileHouse.com, she explains.

Doddridge adds Small Town Love is all about supporting small town business owners by making it easier for folks to shop local first.

“It allows independent businesses to become part of a larger brand. This Small Town Love brand is kind of going wild; it’s going all through Northern British Columbia.”

The project will create professional, creative and engaging online representation for participating businesses with an easily-customized profile to help them connect with new customers.

The many benefits include expertly written content, a full package of professional photographs and a list of products, services and brands integrated into a Local Product Finder database.

Many other features and marketing materials are included, so contact Joanne Doddridge at the District office by the end of August for more information, or to sign up.

A $50 investment is required upon registration. However, will go directly into the local marketing, she says, adding all the valuable program features are fully funded.

Stop by the District office at 385 Birch Ave., call 250-395-2434 or e-mail
