Interior Savings introduces $10,000 twist to Day of Difference

On Oct. 20 Interior Savings employees will be rolling up their sleeves to lend a hand

On Oct. 20 Interior Savings employees are rolling up their sleeves to lend a hand in their community and the credit union is offering up cash for others who’d like to get in on this act of local good.

Here at home, branches will open up at 9:30 a.m. with treats and gifts for members. Then, at 2 p.m., Interior Savings will close its doors a little early and employees from Osoyoos to Clearwater will lend a helping hand to those community organizations who work tirelessly for the benefit of others.

The Clearwater group will be cleaning up the community room at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital. Last year, the team worked on washing windows and painting at Evergreen Acres and in 2014 they helped the Trails Task Force develop the hospital loop trail.

This mass volunteering effort marks the third annual Interior Savings’ Day of Difference and will include over 500 employees in 14 communities across the Interior of BC. Interior Savings’ Day of Difference coincides with International Credit Union Day, an annual event commemorating the credit union movement’s impact and achievements globally, nationally, and in local communities – all made possible by the support of its’ members.

In an added twist, Interior Savings is launching their $10,000 Local Give. Members and local residents will have the opportunity to share what good they would do with $100. The first 100 qualified applicants will receive the cash to make their good idea happen.

Beginning on Oct. 20, go to www.localgive.eventbrite.ca to share what local good you could do with $100.
