The newest addition to Canada’s first luxury auto mall has been green-lighted by Langley City council.
The new 33,271 square foot Jaguar/ Land Rover dealership will be located at 5978 Collection Drive, off the Langley Bypass, and is part of OpenRoad Auto Group’s luxury auto retail complex, known as “The Collection.”
Council unanimously approved the development permit application for the project at their July 21 regular meeting.
Designs from Christopher Bozyk Architecture Ltd. presented to council include a two storey building with showroom, sales offices, a parts department and service garage. The property will also house a separate one-storey “Super Luxury Pavilion” showroom specifically for used luxury vehicles.
Following the international brand image of Jaguar/ Land Rover, the design will feature a modern look, high quality building materials and large glass facades, all while trying to maximize visibility from Glover Road and Collection Drive.
In a separate motion, council voted unanimously in favour of approving a 400 square foot addition to the two existing freestanding pylon signs for “The Collection” in order to accommodate the number of new luxury dealerships being developed. Extra panels will be added to the signage, but the overall height of the signs will remain the same.
“This is probably one of the classiest signs that we have in that area,” said Councillor Teri James. “It’s prominence speaks volumes and I personally can’t wait until every single one of those slots is filled.”
