Attend the Employment Expo Job Fair 2018 on Friday, Oct. 12 at the Florence Filberg Centre, upstairs and downstairs, from noon to to 4 p.m.

This is The Job Shop/Work BC’s largest job fair ever.

Come prepared to connect with over 40 employers from the construction, education, finance, health, hospitality, human services, mining, public service, recreation, retail, seafood and security industries.

Planning to attend the Expo but not sure how to prepare?

Here are a few tips:

• Research the employers you would like to speak to.

• Tailor your resume.

• Plan your introduction and questions.

• Better yet, stop into The Job Shop/WorkBC to use the resources in our self-serve centre or speak to a Career Advisor to explore personalized job search assistance.

On the day, dress as though you already work there. Approach each employer with a smile, a handshake, patience and enthusiasm. Circulate and visit, you may be surprised at the variety of positions at an organization. After a chat, ask for a business card, so that you can follow up with a letter or email.
