Nominations are being accepted for the annual Surrey Business Excellence Awards.

Hosted and organized by the Surrey Board of Trade, the awards recognize local businesses and “help improve their performance while providing an introduction to business assessment and business excellence models.

Any business or individual can be nominated and self-nominations are accepted.

Businesses must be based in Surrey and have a Surrey business licence.

Judges will assess the businesses on organizational profile, leadership, strategy, development and planning, customer focus and market knowledge, employee learning and people focus, process management, supplier/partner focus, community involvement and overall business performance.

Nominations are accepted in seven different categories: 1-10 employees, 11-40 employees, 41-plus employees, not-for-profit organization, business person of the year, new business of the year and student entrepreneur of the year.

Winners will be announced at the awards gala Nov. 6, 6-10 p.m. at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel, 15269 104 Ave.

Tickets are $110 each or $1,050 per table of 10, plus GST.
