Courses from the country’s premier institute for professional development in tax and financial services are coming to Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU).
In a partnership announced Thursday with the KPU School of Business, the Knowledge Bureau will be adding its 25 online certificate courses to the university’s Essential Business Skills program. The collaboration will open up access for KPU students and professionals looking to obtain certifications, occupational skills diplomas and enhanced skillsets for work in various financial professions, or to launch a business.
“Knowledge Bureau is delighted to partner in this essential business skills program with KPU,” said Evelyn Jacks, founder and president of Knowledge Bureau. “Together, we will provide tax and business service specialist programs to students who wish to earn credentials to work in tax, accounting and financial services, either as employees or self-employed practitioners. These programs are also of interest to newcomers to Canada and entrepreneurs from every walk of life who want to understand their responsibilities to the Canada Revenue Agency, as well as exercise their rights to pay only the correct amount of tax, but no more.”
Founded in 2003, the Knowledge Bureau offers specialized courses in tax, bookkeeping and retirement income services, as well as diplomas to become a certified personal savings advisor, certified life transitions advisor or a certified business tax practitioner.
This fall, three Knowledge Bureau courses will be initially available through KPU. Registration is now open for tax and business services specialists courses. All offerings are entirely online, and self-paced.
“Evelyn Jacks and the Knowledge Bureau lead nationally in tax and business services seminars for working professionals,” said Wayne Tebb, dean of the KPU School of Business. “Their seminars provide a significant and highly practical knowledge boost to participants. Knowledge Bureau seminars are an excellent complement to KPU’s practical hands-on approach to learning.”
The Knowledge Bureau hosts regional workshops and in-class events in major centres across Canada, but this is its first such partnership with a university. The institute is also a national publisher of financial books, and provides consulting services to organizations and corporations.
