Township 7 has been selected as the Calgary Stampede’s official centennial wine – a huge honour for the South Langley winery.
With that in mind, the winery has just announced two new releases, the Centennial Selection 2008 Merlot and a Centennial Selection 2009 Chardonnay.
Township 7’s wines are handcrafted in small lots in its vineyards in the south Okanagan Valley and in Langley, the location of its Fraser Valley vineyard and wineshop at 21152 16 Avenue.
Its Naramata vineyard and winery is located at 1450 McMillan Avenue, Penticton.
In addition to a two-day event July 8-9 in the Okanagan, Township 7 is planning a massive Western Roundup Anniversary party at its south Langley winery during the second week of the Stampede, July 14-15. There will be multiple bands performing, country dancers, a kids fun zone, midway rides and a barbecue.
A country and western concert is planned for July 14: country, alt, indie and rock musicians include Trevor Murray, Todd Richard, Danny Davies, Roger Schmidt, Lisa Nicole, Jet Black and Cory Hawthorn.
Partial proceeds will support the Fibromyalgia Well Spring Foundation.
