The new Ladysmith Downtown Business Association president sees herself as just another member of the team.
“I’m fortunate enough to have a fantastic team,” Jenna Forster said. “They’re very strong and dynamic and that helps me quite a bit.”
The president and owner of J. Forster & Associates, a human resources company, Forster was a director in the LDBA last year.
She said this year the LDBA is focussing on increasing awareness of local businesses, providing networking opportunities and collaborating with business groups.
“I’m looking forward to collaborating and becoming a cohesive unit for the betterment of Ladysmith,” she said of working with other organizations in the community.
As president, Forster said she’s there to support the goals already set forward and to maintain the LDBA’s guidelines.
“My role is to support our members.”
She said one of the main focusses for the LDBA this year is collaborating.
“That’s really been our focus and it continues to be our focus,” she said of working together.
Forster said it’s also important to make sure businesses and locals are aware of what is in town.
“It’s really that local push,” she said.
“Keep locals shopping here.”
John Surtees will still serve on the LDBA board as past president.
