Looking your best with a Personal Touch

Personal Touch Hair and Body Day Spa is bringing more services to the people in and around Golden.

Personal Touch Hair and Body Day Spa has added a few new services to their repertoire to have you looking your best this holiday season.

“We have quite a few new services this winter,” said owner Bev Dockerty. And they will surely add some excitement to any Christmas party outfit.

“A lot of people are wanting stuff in their hair now that’s not permanent colour,” said Dockerty. “So we have the tinsel and the feathers.”

Both the tinsel and the feathers get fastened to the hair, adding a little more visual interest, without permanently changing the hair.

“The tinsel is more of a fun night out kind of thing… we put little tinsel bits through the hair, so when they move it glitters. We had a couple ladies put it in for the Starlight Soiree,” said Dockerty.

“It’s the same with the feathers, we fasten them to the hair. And the feathers can be washed, so when you wash your hair, just wash it with the feathers in. That way, it can last as long as you want the feathers to stay in.”

Nail Shellacing, and Chemical Hair Straightening are also new to the salon.

“The Shellac Nails, it’s like nail varnish that you paint on the nails, but it’s not a gel nail or a false nail. It’s a new thing that’s come out… It helps to keep the nails hard without having to put the gel on,” said Dockerty.

The shellac needs to be soaked off in about three weeks time, either at the salon or at home.

“And the chemical straightening is just a nicer way of straightening it without ruining the hair,” said Dockerty.

And finally the salon is offering a way to stay golden brown during the dark winter months with their new Fake Bake air brush tanning.

“So we have a tanning booth where they’re standing, and we spray all the clients with the tan,” she said. “It lasts up to about two weeks, fading slowly. When you first have it done, you look quite dark. You leave it on as long as you can, and shower before you go to bed.”

Two employees at Personal Touch went out and got certified to do the Fake Bake.

“We have a few ladies who have had it done so far and they’ve loved it.”

And don’t forget that Personal Touch offers laser hair removal. And through the holiday season, the shop is offering up to 35 per cent off treatments.

“It’s going to be going into the new year,” said Dockerty. She is offering 20 percent off facial parts, and 35 per cent off body parts. And even though the discount offer may only be going until January or February, if you begin a treatment while the discount is on, it will apply to all subsequent treatments to that area (it often takes six to nine treatments).
