2020 has been a difficult year for many small to medium sized businesses, as they have been most at risk during this crisis. Recognizing that fact, the Emergency Relief Fund was created.
This was done as a joint effort through financial and in-kind contributions of Community Futures North Fraser, the Mission Downtown Business Association and the Mission Chamber of Commerce.
The fund offered up to $2,500 to support immediate business operation needs.
The Emergency Relief Fund Organization concentrated efforts on those businesses that showed focus on business resilience and were particularly hard hit during the global pandemic.
Many local businesses have been helped through this program. In July, Happy Homesteader, Silver Creek Cafe, Fitness Lab and Addressing Needs all received financial support.
In September, AlleyCat Hemlines, English Tarts, Evoke Wellness and World Odyssey Travel also received funds.
The most recent recipients received funds this month. Funds were awarded to Sue’s Copy Place ($2,500), Karla’s Specialteas ($2,500), Studio FitRx ($2,500), Can Dance Studio ($2,500) and Gallery 202 Studio ($1,000).
Organizers of the Emergency Relief Fund would like to take this opportunity to thank all the applicants and to congratulate all of the businesses that have shown resilience during such a difficult time.
