The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for the 2016 Business Excellence Awards.
This year’s finalists were chosen through a rigorous judging process and an online community vote. With more than 40 businesses nominated and over 150 nominations cast, many of this year’s nominees were chosen for multiple categories.
“To be honoured by your community and your peers with a nomination for the Business Excellence Awards is a feeling one cannot easily explain. It is a tremendous honour to get nominated and for those small business owners who are working tirelessly every day it is the acknowledgment that they have truly made it,” said Chamber president David Sawatzky.

The winners of the 2016 Business Excellence Awards will be honored at the gala on Feb. 24. This year’s event will take place at the Clarke Theatre and is a grand red carpet affair, complete with a cocktail hour filled with entertainment, music, food provided by Blackberry Kitchen and Hotties Foods, live cooking demonstrations, signature cocktails and wine provided by UFV Alumni.
Join Cliff Prang, emcee and comedian for the evening, as attendees take to the theatre for an Oscars-style awards presentation honouring the best in the business community.
After the awards, the night will finish off with a special champagne celebration provided by the Mission Springs with desserts from local bakers the English Tarts.
“This spectacular event will focus on the success of all the finalists and brings together many local businesses to provide an evening that is unique, entertaining and truly celebrates what business in Mission is all about. This event is a perfect opportunity to network with many of our local business owners,” said Sawatzky.
