The deadline to nominate Nanaimo businesses for annual awards is approaching.
The 17th annual Business Achievement Awards are accepting nominations for Nanaimo businesses in categories ranging from manufacturing and technology to retail, restaurants, youth initiatives, community service organizations and more.
The deadline to nominate is March 24.
The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce has established itself as the mid-Island’s No. 1 way to recognize business excellence, said Kim Smythe, chamber CEO.
He said the awards recognize the efforts of local businesses and staff and they can also raise awareness of a brand through differentiation by setting a company and its achievements apart from competitors as well as visibility by attracting new customers and investors.
Awards speak volumes about products and services and provide third-party endorsement. Being nominated or shortlisted for an award can be helpful because it places a business at the forefront of its industry and speaks to a company’s work ethic, dedication and unique specialty.
Nominations are open to all businesses – chamber members or not — in the Greater Nanaimo area. For more information and nominations forms, please visit www.nanamochamber.bc.ca.
An Oscar-style awards ceremony is set for May 4 at the Port Theatre. Tickets to the awards gala are available through the Port Theatre box office at 250-754-8550 or www.porttheatre.com.
