The City of Pitt Meadows has a new person in charge of its finances and budget.
Mark Roberts took over as director of finance and facilities Monday, following the departure of Dean Rear to Metro Vancouver as their treasury comptroller.
Roberts has 24 years of accounting experience, 14 of those spent working as the manager of financial services for the City of Port Moody.
In his role with Port Moody, Robert’s portfolio included accounting, financial reporting, taxation and revenue, budgeting, and purchasing.
“There is no doubt that municipalities need to look at how to be effective and Mark brings a breadth of experience and fresh eyes to our financial statements and our systems. We are a smaller municipality facing all the challenges of the larger cities but with limited resources,” said Pitt Meadows chief administrative officer Jake Rudolph.
