The local chamber of commerce has some new members on its board and executive this year.
Janice Paulitschke of Silvertip Promotions and Signs Inc. has been named the new Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce president, with former president Coleen Taylor moving into the ex-officio position. Paulitschke will be president for the next two years.
As no one put their name forth for the 1st vice president position during the voting at the annual general meeting April 21 at the Best Western, the board will look for someone to fill the position until the next annual general meeting next year.
Leydi Noble of DLN Contracting and Allnorth Consultants has been a chamber director for two years and moves up to 2nd vice president.
Business consultant Val Gauvin of Dawne Business Solutions remains as chamber treasurer, and Randi Beatty, Gordon Stamp-Vincent and Tammy Praticante will also be staying on as directors.
New directors voted into the board are Body By Lori’s Lori Filtziakis, RONA and Your Décor co-owner Dave Merritt, All Seasons Source for Sport’s Bob Park, Terrace and District Community Services Society manager Paula Peinsznski, and TCSI Consulting’s Tom Burbee. Filtziakis, Merritt, Park and Peinsznski will serve a two-year term, while Burbee will be filling a one-year term.
New president Paulitschke said one of her goals is to continue working on increasing membership and educating businesses on the benefits of being a Chamber member.
Past president Bert Husband leaves the Chamber after more than a decade on the board, having been president for two terms.
