Four North Okanagan companies are finalists in The Canadian Homebuilders of the Central Okanagan (CHBA-CO) Tommie Awards.
The Tommie Awards is an annual awards program that celebrates excellence in home building and renovation within the Central Okanagan.
To be eligible for a Tommie Award, members of the CHBA-CO submitted entries that were built, renovated, developed, created and/or marketed during the period of Jan. 1, 2017 – Sept. 30, 2018.
The finalists and winners are selected by a panel of out-of-town industry professionals.
“The success of the Tommie Awards couldn’t happen without a strong and supportive industry. The Awards’ continued success is a testament to the tireless efforts and dedication of the Canadian Home Builders Association, that works every day to promote and showcase world class projects and communities in the Central Okanagan,” said Kevin Santos, Tommie Awards Chair.
Bercum Builders garnered six nominations:
* Excellence in any Room – New or Reno;
* Excellence in Marketing;
* Excellence in Kitchen Renovation $80k & under;
* Excellence in Bathroom Renovations;
* Excellence in Single Family Detached Home $500k – $750k;
* Excellence in Single Family Detached over $5M.

Sunterra Custom Homes collected five nominations, including two in one category:
* Excellence in Kitchen Design (New Home) $70k & under;
* Excellence in Single Family Detached Home $350k – $500k;
* Excellence in Single Family Detached Home $500k – $750k;
* Excellence in Single Family Detached Home $750k – $1M (two nominations).
Parsons Family Homes picked up four nominations:
* Excellence in Outdoor Living Space;
* Excellence in Certified Home;
* Excellence in Single Family Detached home $750k – $1M;
* Excellence in Urban Infill – Residential (Property Re-Use).

MQN Architecture & Interior Design was nominated for Excellence in Creating and Interior Feature / Innovation in a home.
The 27th Annual Tommie Awards Gala will be held on Jan. 19, at the Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel. A champagne reception will start at 5 p.m. with the program and entertainment to begin at 6 p.m.
