Gordon Dodd’s Oceanside Middle School Grade 6 class marked the successful completion of their Power Play Entrepreneurial Project on Friday by donating $70 (10 per cent of revenue) to the B.C . SPCA Parksville-Qualicum Beach branch.

The students created their own items to make and sell, planning the unit cost and how to make, market and sell them.

Students made posters and found ways to generate interest.

Cameron Mazey had the top revenue generating item, selling 200 mini Easter Island heads for $1 each.

He hid some around the school for fellow students to mysteriously discover before the school-wide sale was held in the library, building excitement in advance of his product launch.

Other top ideas included Alexandra Luscombe’s art and Memphis Cluley’s  spinning tops while others sold bracelets, art and other wooden toys.
