Check out your Goldstream News Gazette on Wednesday, in which you’ll find the spring/summer Activity Guide for West Shore Parks and Recreation. This guide outlines programs and drop-in schedules for May through August and registration starts tomorrow (April 7) at 6 a.m.
The Guide features information on summer camps for preschoolers, school-age children and teenagers. There is also information on community events, how to plan your wedding at the beautiful Kinsmen Fieldhouse, as well as the variety of activities available at the 55-Plus Seniors Activity Centre. Be sure to keep your copy close by and check out the exciting activities for this summer.
There will be a public open house at Royal Bay secondary on April 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. to discuss the Latoria North rezoning as it relates to the emerging Royal Bay neighbourhood near the school. For more information visit royalbay.ca.
The Langford Legion hosts a Spring Craft and Garage Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday (April 10), with more than 30 tables of bargains, a silent auction, meat draws and a snack bar. The Legion is at 761 Station Ave.
From April 15 to 17, check out the Victoria Home and Garden Show at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre. Admission is free for this exciting event, where you can find lots of great ideas and exhibitors who will be ready to answer your home and garden questions. The show runs Friday from 1 p.m. until 9, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., then Sunday rounds out the weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On April 16 to 17 and April 23 to 24, Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowls hosts open houses from 1 to 3 p.m. at the greens behind The Q Centre. Everyone is welcome to come out and throw a few bowls and find out more about league play. This is a great summer sport for five months and a great way to connect with new friends.
