Quality Foods Waterside Square in Parksville has captured the Canadian Master Merchandiser National Gold Award as part of the Independent Grocer of the Year Awards program.
The honour was accepted by Quality Foods partners Ken Schley and John Briuolo on behalf of store manager Randy Henson and his store people at the October 18 Canadian Federation of Independent Grocer’s (CFIG) Annual Awards Dinner in Toronto.
The Canadian Master Merchandiser Award is awarded to the independent grocer who best demonstrates effective merchandising through store displays, community involvement and building strong relationships between retailers and suppliers.
This year, the company submitted an entry that encompassed each of these qualities and was rewarded with the coveted National Gold in the medium store category.
“This award is special for us because our entry was themed as “We’re 34 – Look What’s in Store” as part of our anniversary celebrations,” said Schley, QF Director of Operations. “A lot of people worked very hard for this, and the results were remarkable. We’re very pleased and excited to return and share this achievement with them.”
